gyrocopterAfter serving through a life span of wars, disturbance, rebellions, and insurgencies, the brass figured Aurel had seen an adequate amount. In addition to a few ornaments and his significant pension, the one-time engineer left with something far more attractive: a long-forgotten, unfinished chart for a Gyrocopter, the world’s first manned, non-magical flying machine. Retiring to the tropical anonymity of the Ash Archipelago with little else but time and money, he set to work building the apparatus. As the years wore on and the remnants of failed prototypes began to load up, he began to question if mechanical flight was achievable. A decade and a day after giving up work, on a sunny afternoon with a southerly breeze, Aurel sat in his latest endeavour bristling with annoyance and expectant malfunction. With a grunt of effort, he pulled the blast-off cord and sheltered his head, waiting for the expected explosion. However, to his great shock he began to lift and, following a few panicked modifications, stabilize. Within an hour, he was flying with the breeze. Aurel found himself filled with the gasping wonder of flight. As dusk settled in, he set a route back to his workshop, but no sooner had he turned his craft when a cannonball tore through his tailfin. Unravelling himself from the wreckage, he swam toward the adjacent piece of land and cursed to see the ship responsible for the cannonball collecting the wreckage. Days later, when Aurel returned to his workshop, he set to work on yet another gyrocopter, this one capable of carrying a much heavier, more dangerous payload.

Homing Missile deals greater damage the further it has traveled. Enemy units can destroy the missile before it reaches its target. The biggest missile Aurel could possibly attach to his craft, The Bomb™ has carefully calculated aerodynamics and explosives for maximum impact.
